To initiate a transfer you will need to obtain the authorization code from your current registrar. These can often be referred to as either the epp code or auth code. They act as a password and are unique to the domain name.
Before you order the transfer, check with your current registrar that:
  • the domain is unlocked (its registrar lock is off);
  • it was registered, or last transferred, more than 60 days ago;
  • you have its EPP code, which only the current registrar can give you.
