Metin2 Server Hosting on a machine that is yours
Run your Metin2 server on a KVM VDS in Frankfurt with full root access, your choice of FreeBSD or Linux, and multi-Tbps Anti-DDoS in front of it. You bring the server files and the database; we keep the machine and the IP online.
VDS plans from €32.00EUR per month
Metin2 servers are not a one-click product. You run the game cores, an auth server and a MySQL or MariaDB database side by side, usually on FreeBSD or on a Debian/Ubuntu build, and you need root to compile, patch and tune any of it. ESAGAMES does not sell a ready-made Metin2 game server: you rent a Virtual Dedicated Server and run your own server files on it, exactly the way the serious projects do.
What you get is a KVM virtual machine in Frankfurt with guaranteed vCPU, RAM and NVMe, full root, the OS image you ask for, and the same multi-Tbps Anti-DDoS network as the rest of ESAGAMES. That last part matters more in this scene than in almost any other — a Metin2 server with a growing player base gets attacked, usually by someone who runs a competing one.
Everything your Metin2 server needs
A Metin2 server is three things running together — the game cores, the auth server and a database — and all three need to stay up. That is a job for a whole machine, not a shared slot.
Full root, your OS
FreeBSD if your binaries expect it, or Debian and Ubuntu if your build is newer. You compile, patch and tune what you like — nothing is locked down.
Your own database
MariaDB or MySQL on the same machine as the cores, so queries never cross the network. Tune my.cnf, add indexes and dump backups on your own schedule.
Anti-DDoS included
Metin2 servers get attacked by rivals as a matter of routine. Yours sits behind multi-Tbps Frankfurt filtering, with a dedicated TCP filter for the game ports.
Dedicated resources
Guaranteed vCPU cores, RAM and NVMe on Ryzen 9 and Xeon Gold nodes — no noisy neighbour stealing CPU during a siege.
Everything on one box
Game cores, auth, database, the website, the item shop and a Discord bot can all live on the same VDS.
Frankfurt latency
Central-EU routing, which is where most of the Metin2 player base actually is.
Built for Metin2 players, not just servers
Hardware, network and protection tuned for game hosting — hosted in one of Europe's best-connected data centres.
Multi-Tbps Anti-DDoS
Your VDS is filtered through our own 13 Tbps+ Frankfurt network — attacks are absorbed before they reach your server. Learn more →
Instant activation
The VDS is provisioned automatically after checkout, so you can log in and start installing within minutes.
Low EU latency
Frankfurt is the heart of European networking. Players across the EU get a stable, low ping for smooth gameplay.
Full root, your setup
A KVM virtual machine you control completely — SteamCMD, mods, scripts and backups, set up the way you want.
Ryzen 9 and Xeon Gold
VDS plans run on Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 7950X or Xeon Gold 6230R processors.
24/7 in-house support
Real people run the network and the VDS platform. We keep the machine online; the game server on it is yours to run.
How to make a Metin2 server
Four steps from checkout to a live server. You will need a Linux command line — or follow our guide line by line.
Pick a VDS plan
Size for player count and database weight. A new server is comfortable on the entry plan; an established one with a big database wants more RAM and cores.
Choose your OS
Tell us FreeBSD or Linux when you order. FreeBSD is still what many Metin2 binaries were built against; newer builds run on Debian or Ubuntu.
Upload your files
Connect over SSH, put your server files in place, import the SQL schema and point the config at your database.
Open the ports and go live
Allow the auth and game ports in your firewall, start the cores, and share your IP. The protection is already in front of it.
How much server do you need?
A Metin2 server runs on one of our VDS plans. Here is which plan fits — the cores, RAM and disk shown are each plan's current specs.
VDS plans from €32.00EUR per month.
VDS 1
6 GB RAM · 4 vCPU · 60 GB disk
A new server finding its first players.
VDS 2
10 GB RAM · 6 vCPU · 100 GB disk
An established server with a steady population and a busy database.
VDS 3
16 GB RAM · 10 vCPU · 150 GB disk
Several cores, a large database and headroom for the website and voice.
Your files, your rules
Whatever your build expects.
Metin2 is a top DDoS target — you're covered
Game servers are the #1 target for DDoS attacks. Every ESAGAMES VDS sits behind our multi-Tbps filtering, engineered to absorb modern botnets like AISURU and keep your Metin2 server online during raids, rivalries and events.
Metin2 hosting questions, answered
Do you provide Metin2 server files?
No. We provide the machine, the network and the protection — the server files, the database schema and the client are yours to supply and yours to be responsible for. Check our acceptable use terms before you order if you are unsure whether your project fits.
FreeBSD or Linux — which should I pick?
It depends on your binaries. FreeBSD was the historical standard for Metin2 and many compiled cores still expect it; newer and recompiled builds run fine on Debian or Ubuntu. If your files came with a build guide, follow what it says — we install the image you ask for.
How much RAM does a Metin2 server need?
Around 8 GB is a sensible working figure for a server with a real population, and 16 GB once you are hosting many players or running a heavy database alongside the website. The database is usually what grows, not the cores.
Which ports does Metin2 use?
The auth server is commonly on 11002 and the game cores on 13000 and upwards, with MySQL on 3306 kept local. The exact numbers are set in your own config, and with full root you open whichever ones your build uses.
Why does Anti-DDoS matter so much for Metin2?
Because attacks in this scene are competitive, not random. A server that starts pulling players gets hit, often during an event or a siege when it hurts most. Filtering is included here and sits in front of your IP from the first packet.
Can I move an existing server here?
Yes. Copy your files over, dump and import your database, and repoint your client to the new IP. A VDS is a plain Linux or FreeBSD machine, so nothing about the migration is unusual.
Can I run the website and item shop on the same machine?
Yes — that is the normal setup. One VDS can hold the cores, the database, a web server for the site and shop, and anything else you need.
