Intro
Is your Discord bot offline, or online but ignoring every command? Those are two different problems. Here's how to fix both.
Bot shows offline
If the bot shows offline, its process isn't running, or it can't log in. Restart it, and watch the console for a login error. If you reset the token, the old one stops working, so paste the new token into your config.
Keep the token secret
And never post your token publicly. Discord detects leaked tokens and disables them automatically.
Turn on the intents
If the bot is online but silent, it's almost always intents. In the Developer Portal, open your app, go to Bot, and turn on Message Content Intent, plus Server Members if you need it. Then request the same intents in your code.
Permissions
Still silent? Check permissions. The bot's role needs to read and send messages in that channel. For slash commands, invite it with the applications.commands scope, and keep its role above the roles it manages.
Host it 24/7
Goes offline when you close your PC? For 24/7 uptime, run it on a VPS under a process manager like pm2 or systemd, so it restarts after a crash or a reboot.
Recap
Quick recap: offline means process or token. Silent means intents or permissions. VPS hosting at esagames.ro.
