Intro
FiveM or RedM? Both come from Cfx.re, and both run custom multiplayer servers. But they're built for different games, and very different communities.
FiveM
FiveM runs custom servers for GTA V. It's the bigger, older platform, with a massive library of scripts, and frameworks like ESX, QBCore and Qbox. Modern city roleplay is FiveM.
RedM
RedM does the same for Red Dead Redemption 2. Western roleplay, slower and more immersive, with frameworks like VORP and RedEM:RP.
Community
The biggest difference is the community. FiveM's player base and script library are many times larger. On RedM, you'll often build or commission your own content, but the community is tight-knit and dedicated.
Running the server
Running the server feels almost identical. Both use txAdmin, a Cfx.re license key, a framework and a database. And both are CPU-bound, so a high-clock CPU matters most.
Which to pick
Pick FiveM for the biggest audience and the most scripts, RedM for a dedicated Western community. We host both at esagames.ro.
