Intro
How much does a game server actually cost? Here's what you're paying for, and what's a fair price.
Price range
A rented server costs from a few euros a month for a small vanilla server, up to €20–45 or more for big modded ones.
RAM & the game
RAM is the biggest lever. More players and more mods need more memory. Then the game itself: CS2 and Terraria are light, while Rust, ARK and FiveM are heavy.
CPU speed
CPU speed matters too. Games like FiveM, Garry's Mod and Minecraft lean on one core, so a fast modern CPU beats a big core count.
Network & Anti-DDoS
Location and network decide your ping. And real Anti-DDoS protection has a cost. "Free" protection often isn't real.
Comparing offers
When you compare offers, compare the same things: RAM, CPU model, location, protection, backups. Watch for setup fees, and check what happens at renewal.
Recap
Pay for the RAM and CPU your game needs, not for the biggest number. Game server hosting at esagames.ro.
