Intro
Your Valheim dedicated server won't show up in the list? It's almost always the ports, or crossplay. Here's the fix.
The ports
Valheim needs UDP ports 2456–2458. Open and forward them to your server.
Crossplay
Playing across platforms? Valheim has two lists, Steam and crossplay. If your friends use different platforms, start the server with the -crossplay flag.
Still missing
Still not there? A brand new server can take a few minutes to appear. A firewall on the server itself can block the ports. And behind CGNAT, you can't forward ports at all.
Join IP
The most reliable way in skips the list completely. In Valheim, go to Join Game, then Join IP, and type your server address and port.
Test first
Make Join IP your first test after every restart. It tells you right away whether the server is reachable.
