FAQ

Minecraft status checker — FAQ

How do I check if a Minecraft server is online?

Enter the server's address (domain or IP) above and click "Check status". We ping the server directly and show whether it's online, plus the player count, MOTD, version and ping.

Does it work for any Minecraft server?

Yes — it works for any public Minecraft Java Edition server, yours or anyone else's. Just enter the address. Bedrock-only servers aren't supported yet.

What port does Minecraft use?

The default Minecraft Java port is 25565. If your server uses a different port, add it after a colon, e.g. play.yourserver.net:25566.

Why does it say my server is offline?

The server may be down, starting up, behind a firewall that blocks status pings, on a different port, or using a domain without the right DNS/SRV record. Double-check the address and port.

Is the checker free?

Completely free, no login or sign-up needed. Use it as often as you like.

How accurate is the player count?

It's the live count the server reports in its status response — the same number you'd see in the Minecraft multiplayer server list.
