Fix Palworld Dedicated Server Not Showing Up
dedicated server not showingcommunity server not visiblePalworld's community server list is notoriously unreliable and slow to update. The good news: you don't need it. Here's how to make the server reachable and connect directly every time.
Open the port
Palworld uses a single UDP port by default — make sure it's open/forwarded:
8211/udp game (default)
The community list is the problem, not your server
The in-game community browser only shows a slice of servers and updates slowly — a working server often just doesn't appear. Don't rely on it.
Connect directly instead
In Palworld, choose Join Multiplayer Server (Dedicated) and enter the address in the box at the bottom:
server-ip:8211
Check your server settings
In PalWorldSettings.ini, confirm a server name is set and (if you want it listed) community visibility is on:
ServerName="My Palworld Server"
ServerPlayerMaxNum=16
RCONEnabled=True
For a private or friends' server, just share server-ip:8211 and use direct connect. It's instant and never depends on the flaky community browser.
Open 8211/udp and use direct connect. The community list is unreliable — direct connect always works.
Other reasons a Palworld server isn't showing or reachable
- The server needs a public IP — behind CGNAT it can never be reachable regardless of settings (see our port forwarding guide).
- RCON or Steam integration misconfigured can stop the listing without affecting direct connect at all.
- A firewall on the server OS blocking UDP 8211 even though the router allows it.
- Running an outdated server build after a game update — update the server before troubleshooting further.
How to prevent Palworld server visibility problems
Treat the community list as a bonus, not a requirement — always verify the server works with direct connect first, keep the server updated the same day as client patches, and share your ip:port somewhere players can always find it (Discord, MOTD) instead of relying on the browser.

Frequently asked questions
What port does a Palworld dedicated server use?
UDP 8211 by default. It must be open and forwarded for players to connect, whether they use the community list or direct connect.
Why isn't my Palworld server in the community list?
The community browser is unreliable and only shows some servers, updating slowly. Your server can be perfectly online and still not appear. Use direct connect with your IP and port instead.
How do I join a Palworld server directly?
On the multiplayer menu choose the dedicated server option and type server-ip:8211 into the address box. This bypasses the community list entirely.
Does Palworld need port forwarding if I only use direct connect?
Yes — the port still needs to be open and reachable for the connection itself to succeed. Direct connect only skips the community list step, not the underlying network requirement.
Can an outdated server version stop it from showing or being joinable?
Yes — running a build behind the current client version is one of the most common causes of both invisibility and failed joins. Always update the server the same day as a game patch.
Why do some friends see my server on Steam but others don't on a different platform?
Cross-platform visibility can differ by store/platform integration. If this happens consistently, rely on direct connect with the ip:port instead of the in-game list for players on other platforms.
Is RCON required for a Palworld server to be visible?
No — RCON is for remote administration, not visibility. But a misconfigured RCON setting can sometimes interfere with other server features, so keep it correctly set even if you don't use it daily.
