How to Make a Palworld Server
Run an always-online Palworld dedicated server so your friends can play any time — install with SteamCMD, set your player count and rates, and go. Plus the easy managed route.
A dedicated Palworld server keeps your world online 24/7 with no host needed. You install it with SteamCMD (app 2394010) and tune the world settings to your group.
Palworld's dedicated server is resource-hungry, so it likes a strong CPU and plenty of RAM. You can self-host on a VDS/dedicated box, or use managed Palworld hosting.
What you'll need
A quick checklist before you begin — have these ready and the rest is easy.
- SteamCMD installed, and Steam app 2394010 downloaded.
- A strong CPU and 8–16 GB RAM (Palworld is resource-hungry).
- UDP port 8211 open and reachable.
- Your world settings ready in PalWorldSettings.ini.
Set up a Palworld dedicated server

Configure your world
Edit PalWorldSettings.ini to set player count, difficulty, capture/breeding rates, day length and your server name and password.
Start the server
Launch the server with your player count and port. Palworld uses UDP 8211 by default.

Open the port
Make sure UDP 8211 is open and reachable (handled for you on managed hosting).
Invite your friends
In Palworld, use Join Multiplayer Game and connect by IP and port. Your world stays online 24/7.

Palworld best practices

Schedule backups so a crash never costs you your base or your Pals.
Common problems & fixes
Hit a snag? These are the issues people run into most — and how to solve them.
Server won't accept connections
Confirm UDP 8211 is open and that you're sharing the correct public IP and port.
Lag with several players
Palworld is heavy — high player counts need a strong CPU and more RAM. Upgrade if needed.
My settings aren't applying
Edit the correct PalWorldSettings.ini (the active one the server reads) and restart fully.
World didn't carry over
Upload your existing save to the server's save folder before first start, then launch.
Skip the setup — host it with ESAGAMES
Want it online 24/7 without the setup? Our Palworld hosting runs strong CPUs and NVMe behind a multi-Tbps Frankfurt network — co-op ready, protected and instant.
