Intro

Need to upload a map, a plugin, or a config file to your server? Use SFTP, with FileZilla. Here's how.

Install FileZilla

First, download FileZilla Client — the client, not the server. It's free. Install it with the default options.

Game server details

Game server? Open it in the client area, and click Go to panel. Then open Settings. Under SFTP Details, you'll find the server address — on port 2022 — and your username. Your password is the same one you use for the panel.

VPS details

VPS or dedicated server? Use your server's IP, port 22, the user root, and your root password.

Connect

In FileZilla, fill in the Quickconnect bar: the host, with sftp:// in front, then the username, the password, and the port. Click Quickconnect. The first time, tick "Always trust this host", and click OK.

Upload

On the left are the files on your PC. On the right, the files on your server. Drag files from left to right to upload them — and from right to left to download.

Restart

After changing configs or plugins, restart the server so the changes load. And keep a backup before you overwrite anything.
