alt:V Server Hosting for roleplay that scales
Run your alt:V server on a KVM VDS in Frankfurt with full root, dedicated cores and multi-Tbps Anti-DDoS. alt:V is noticeably lighter than FiveM for the same player count — this is the hardware to take advantage of that.
VDS plans from €32.00EUR per month
alt:V is the GTA V multiplayer platform built around scale. Resources are written in JavaScript or C#, the server is a plain binary you run yourself, and the memory footprint stays low even as the player count climbs — a mid-tier server at a few hundred concurrent players typically sits well under two gigabytes, with cores doing the real work.
Every VDS is a KVM virtual machine in Frankfurt with guaranteed vCPU, RAM and NVMe, full root access and the same multi-Tbps Anti-DDoS network as everything else we host. You upload your resources, edit server.toml and start it — nothing is managed, nothing is locked.
Everything your alt:V server needs
alt:V was built for high player counts, and it shows: mid-size servers run hundreds of players on modest memory. What they need is cores and a clean network path.
Full root access
Install the server binary, manage your resources folder, run it under systemd and update it on your own schedule.
JavaScript or C#
Run the JS module, the C# module or both. Your own resources, your own framework — nothing is imposed.
Database on the same box
Keep MySQL or MariaDB next to the server so character and economy queries never cross the network.
Anti-DDoS included
GTA RP servers get attacked by their own players. Yours sits behind multi-Tbps Frankfurt filtering, with dedicated alt:V TCP and UDP filters.
Cores that matter
alt:V scales on cores more than memory, and you get guaranteed ones on Ryzen 9 and Xeon Gold nodes.
Frankfurt latency
Central-EU routing, which is where most alt:V roleplay communities are.
Built for alt:V players, not just servers
Hardware, network and protection tuned for game hosting — hosted in one of Europe's best-connected data centres.
Multi-Tbps Anti-DDoS
Your VDS is filtered through our own 13 Tbps+ Frankfurt network — attacks are absorbed before they reach your server. Learn more →
Instant activation
The VDS is provisioned automatically after checkout, so you can log in and start installing within minutes.
Low EU latency
Frankfurt is the heart of European networking. Players across the EU get a stable, low ping for smooth gameplay.
Full root, your setup
A KVM virtual machine you control completely — SteamCMD, mods, scripts and backups, set up the way you want.
Ryzen 9 and Xeon Gold
VDS plans run on Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 7950X or Xeon Gold 6230R processors.
24/7 in-house support
Real people run the network and the VDS platform. We keep the machine online; the game server on it is yours to run.
How to make a alt:V server
Four steps from checkout to a live server. You will need a Linux command line — or follow our guide line by line.
Pick a VDS plan
Size for cores and player count. alt:V is memory-light for what it does, so cores are usually the thing to buy.
Install the server
Connect over SSH, download the alt:V server files and the modules your resources need.
Add your resources
Upload your resources folder, list them in server.toml and set your name, player cap and tags.
Open 7788 and go live
Allow the port in your firewall, start the server and share the connect address.
How much server do you need?
A alt:V server runs on one of our VDS plans. Here is which plan fits — the cores, RAM and disk shown are each plan's current specs.
VDS plans from €32.00EUR per month.
VDS 1
6 GB RAM · 4 vCPU · 60 GB disk
A new RP server building its community.
VDS 2
10 GB RAM · 6 vCPU · 100 GB disk
A mid-tier server at a few hundred concurrent players.
VDS 3
16 GB RAM · 10 vCPU · 150 GB disk
Large servers with a heavy resource stack and a database.
Roleplay, freeroam and custom
Whatever your community has built.
alt:V is a top DDoS target — you're covered
Game servers are the #1 target for DDoS attacks. Every ESAGAMES VDS sits behind our multi-Tbps filtering, engineered to absorb modern botnets like AISURU and keep your alt:V server online during raids, rivalries and events.
alt:V hosting questions, answered
What port does an alt:V server use?
7788 by default, on both TCP and UDP. If you serve your resources from a CDN, only UDP is used. With full root you set it in server.toml and open it yourself.
How much hardware does alt:V need?
Less than people expect. Roughly four cores at 3.2 GHz and 4 GB of RAM is a workable baseline for a server over a hundred players, and even a mid-tier server at a few hundred concurrent players typically uses well under 2 GB of memory. Cores are the thing to scale.
Is alt:V lighter than FiveM?
Generally yes, at the same player count. FiveM leans harder on single-core performance and memory once a large asset and resource stack is loaded, which is part of why alt:V is chosen for high-population servers.
Can I run C# resources?
Yes. The C# module and the JavaScript module both run, and you can use either or both on the same server.
Do you sell a ready-made alt:V game server?
No. You rent a VDS and run the alt:V server on it yourself, which is what gives you control over modules, resources and update timing.
Is it DDoS protected?
Always — multi-Tbps Frankfurt filtering, with dedicated alt:V TCP and UDP profiles including a strict mode.
